We had a great week of getting ready for the "Fletcher Family 1st Annual 4th of July Bash" at our house. The party was a blast, with tons of friends, kids, Matt's co-workers, and neighbors who attended. The first guests started to arrive about 3pm, and the last guests ended up spending the night! We had a TON of food, beer, wine, and some tasty watermelon mojitos. I had infused a bunch of watermelon overnight in rum and sugar, then added the remaining ingredients for the mojitos a couple of hours before the party started. It was great weather (about 75 degrees), and even ended up hailing later in the evening, then turning into rain later. It was the second rain of the summer and we (actually our yard and garden), desperately needed it! We were still able to see most of the fireworks from all over town, surrounding neighborhoods and even our own cul-de-sac. Gavin went to visit his mom for a couple of days, so he wasn't here for the festivities. Lochlan had a great time at the party, and didn't even make it until 6:45pm, before he was down for the count!
Before the party, we spent the week having trips to the park, going to our friends' BBQ party, playing with our new toys (a slide, climber and little baby swing, kiddie pool, scooter (which Gavin has dubbed his "skateboard"), tricycle and even a powered atv thing that I call the tractor), hikes, etc.
