Summer in the high country
We sure are enjoying our summer back in the mountains. It's so nice to be able to go on a nice long bike ride and not be dying from heat or humidity. Although this has been the hottest summer on record here in Colorado, the highest temp we've really seen here in Crested Butte is 80, which is really pretty hot for up here. We feel pretty lucky to be able to live here and utilize the mountains to their fullest.
Also, our house in Colorado Springs was spared from the recent Waldo Canyon wildfire, although the fire got to just a couple of miles from our home there. We recently took it off the market and had some tenants move in last weekend, so it is no longer vacant and getting some love from a new family. :)
We have been doing lots of: bike riding, hiking, canoeing, hanging with friends, playing in the dirt (we have a big plot in the community garden), going to the Trailhead (children's discovery museum here), dog poop walks, reading, seeing live music in the park on Monday nights, watching baseball games on t.v., and basically spending a lot of time trying to hang out as a family before my work gets super busy for the summer. Hope everyone reading this is having an awesome summer thus far!
Oh and Lochlan is 100% potty-trained at this point, including for overnight and naps! :) We haven't used even one diaper in about 6 weeks and it is SOOOO great! He loves being a big boy!
