Turkeying around in Utah

We left Colorado Springs early Wednesday morning and headed towards Utah for our weekend in the mountains with Matt's family. We drove seven hours and stayed overnight in Green River, Utah. We found this little tavern for dinner and a game of pool. Lochlan was a champ and hung out while Matt & I played pool. We met some Canadian photographers who were hilarious and on their way to take photos at Bryce Canyon. I meant to get a picture of them but forgot. I informed them that the name of French Fries was supposed to be changed to Freedom Fries in our country, but it never happened. They thought that was pretty funny. After dinner and the game of pool, we went back to the hotel and I took Lochlan in the jacuzzi that was in our room.

Thursday (Thanksgiving) morning, we woke up and had a quick breakfast at the hotel, then drove the remaining four hours to Brian Head, Utah. We rented a big house there with most of Matt's family and we had a blast! We ate lots of turkey, ham, had fun conversations and played pool. Friday was a relaxing day of reading, eating tasty leftovers and sledding. Matt thought he'd do some ridiculous sledding stunt and ended up hurting his knee, which meant that he wasn't able to snowboard this trip!

On Saturday, I taught Matt's nephews, Iain, Jake and Jackson, as well as Matt's brother-in-law, Eric, how to snowboard. It was a wicked lot of fun, especially since it had started snowing that morning. We ended up getting over a foot of snow on Saturday and that night. After digging out the driveway on Sunday morning, we packed up the cars and all headed home. We decided to just do all of the driving in one day, and got home late Sunday night. We were exhausted but had such a good time!
