Tres!

We celebrated Lochlan's 3rd birthday on Sunday with bike mania at the pump tracks, then relocated to Rainbow Park for playing on the playground and cake. A good portion of Lochlan's classmates came, along with a couple of his buddies from Colorado Springs. One of Lochlan's classmates moms' makes awesome cakes, so she made a yellow train cake that he kept asking for. All of the kids were really taken with it and with very minimal effort, we got them all to sit at the picnic table at the same time and sing the "Happy Birthday" song to him. It was pretty easy, considering none of them couldn't take their eyes off the cake. Lochlan ended up opening his birthday gifts at home later, with his best buddy Ryder's supervision. It was such a great day and Lochlan is pretty lucky to have so many great kids to call his friends. The photos below are of Lochlan and his friends, so not all of the kids in them are him. :) He is the one in the plaid shirt and khaki pants with the blue helmet.

Friends in town

We had a couple sets of friends in town this weekend for Lochlan's birthday party on Sunday. I managed to capture some shots in the midst of the busy weekend. We rode the "Free Lifts on Fridays" and did some downhill mountain biking, ate tasty meals, checked out the Arts Festival, went on mountain bike rides (although a minor setback when my chain exploded at the start of the 401 Trail), made pizzas on the grill at our friend Mel's house, and celebrated Lochlan's birthday party in style. Birthday party photos to come in the next blog.

Josiah's 11th Birthday

My nephew, Josiah, turned 11 on July 29th, so we went over to his house for a little family party that they were having for him. He lives here in Crested Butte with his parents and little sister. Lochlan loved following him around and learning cool "boy" stuff from him. Josiah is the sweetest, most caring, patient and genuine boy ever and I'm so proud of the young man he's turning in to. We were so happy to be able to help him celebrate his special day.
