Fruita!
The day after the lifts closed (Easter Sunday) and Matt left to take Gavin back to Colorado Springs, Lochlan & I packed up and went camping in Fruita with some other mamas and kiddos. It was really hot the whole time we were there (80+ degrees) and we plowed through a ton of sunblock. The kids had so much fun riding their bikes and being in the warm desert sun for a few days, and the mamas had a blast relaxing and laughing with the kids.

The Inevitable Day Arrived
So the Monday after Easter was the day that Matt had to take Gavin back to Colorado Springs as he was moving to Ohio. We had to wake Lochlan up that morning so that he could say good bye to Gavin and these are the photos I captured.
Through thick & thin, I hope they can always keep their special bond.

Easter Sunday!
Our last weekend with Gavin was Easter weekend, as he moved to Ohio the day after Easter. We had an awesome weekend coloring eggs, hanging out with friends, going to the Crested Butte Mountain Resort Great Easter Egg Hunt, and spending quality family time together. It was also the same day that the chairlifts stop running for the winter season, so Matt & I hired a babysitter while the boys were napping and went snowboarding for a few hours and lived it up!
Dog walk & a bath
We love our neighborhood here in Crested Butte and the dogs love saying hi to all of the neighbors on their regular walks. I brought the camera with me one night in early April and took photos and a cute video of the boys. Check it out!
After the walk, I continued to take photos of the boys in the tub, as I figured it was probably the last bath they will ever take together. I am so glad I took these, because some day when they're older, they'll be glad I did.
We miss the Conlin's
While back in CO Springs at the end of March, we were able to hang out with our old friends, the Conlin's and go to a great restaurant, Springs Orleans. One of Lochlan's very first homies when we moved to Co Springs was Ryder and we miss him and his parents dearly. Here are a few photos that we took of the boys at dinner that night.
Goodnight Denver
Back in March, we took a day trip to Denver to get some stuff needed for our new home in Crested Butte. While we were there, we just had to take Lochlan down to the 16th Street Mall to show him the clock tower building. He has been on the 16th Street Mall a few times in the past, but was too young to remember it. He has a book called Goodnight Denver and one of the pages in the book talks about the 16th Street Mall and shows the clock tower building. That trip was 5 weeks ago, and Lochlan is still talking about the 16th Street Mall and the clock tower, so it appears that he's starting to retain some memories!
