Waunita Hot Springs

I'm sad to say that we've only been to the hot springs twice this winter, as opposed to at least once a week for the past couple of years. We met up with some Crested Butte friends the last time we went (which was in March) and I snapped a few quick photos of Matt, Caleb, Lochlan & Hadley enjoying the natural springs pool.

First backpack

We got Lochlan his first backpack in March, as we finally decided he needed his own for all of the adventures we go on. Now that the diaper bag is a thing of the past, we wanted him to have fun carrying his own stuff. He was so ecstatic when it arrived and didn't take it off at all that first night. He was wearing it and running around the house, showing it off to the doggies. It was so cute and I just had to take photos.

March 3rd

One of the weekends we had some friends visiting, we went to lunch after we had all been snowboarding. We just happened to have the camera and took a lot of fun photos in the sunlight that was shining down on our table.

First time at the dentist

Lochlan had his first dentist appointment on February 23rd, with our very own Doc Brown here in Crested Butte. Doc was my dentist when I used to live in Crested Butte and has been my most favorite dentist ever. Since moving back to Crested Butte, I've been to see him a few times and look forward to every visit. Sad, huh?! ;) Doc's wife, Missy Brown, runs the office and she is genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever met on this planet. The lady who actually did Lochlan's first check up, Stacy, is also another sweetest person ever and is neighbors with Josiah and she always has a big smile whenever we see her. I was so happy that Lochlan got to share such a memorable experience with them, and after the appointment, they gave him a gift certificate for a free ice cream, in order to ensure that he's a future patient. Lochlan now loves Missy & Doc as much as I do!

Mardi Gras

Lochlan's first Mardi Gras in Crested Butte was a memorable one, to say the least. Here is a photo of him at the end of the night, after he had already given away a ton of the beads he earned watching the parade!

Lochlan's Mama & Papa Snowboarding

It has been 8 years since I rode Superpipe, so I was trying to re-learn it all over again this winter season. Matt had never really ridden in the pipe before this year, so it was fun getting to learn together. My Aunt Christine really wanted to see some videos of me in the pipe, so these are for you, Aunt Chris! Here are some videos we took of each other in February, and when we were watching them again tonight as I was uploading them to this blog, we both agreed we got way better by the end of the season. Of course, we don't have any videos of our improvements by the end of the season, but stay tuned for more next winter season! And then some fun little kickers to round out the day:

Josiah Rocks!

Some snowboarding videos I took this winter of my super-cool nephew, Josiah!

Nonnie came to visit!

Nonnie was finally able to get away from the farm and come visit us this past February. She flew into Colorado Springs and Matt picked her up the airport, so she was able to spend a night at our house there. The next day, Matt & Gavin drove Nonnie out to Crested Butte to visit Lochlan & I for a few days. We had such a fun time spending it with Josiah & Carly, watching Josiah's snowboard competitions, checking out the Crested Butte Heritage Museum, eating out (A LOT!), meeting up for lunch with Gigi & Ladio (Josiah & Carly's grand parents), and just having a great time catching up. Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos while she was here, but she took a lot with her camera, so maybe I can get them from her at some point and put them on this blog. Here are the photos that I did take while she was here! (The boy you see a few times in the snowboard gear and competition bib is my amazing 10 year old nephew, Josiah).
While Nonnie was visiting, Matt & I snuck out to go snowboarding together. Here are some photos I took from the chairlift one of those days:
