Another week in history

I just realized that I haven't posted in over a week, so wanted to fill everyone in on what we've been up to this week. We went to the zoo (three times!!!), lots of hikes, hung out with friends, went to the park, trying to potty train Gavin some more (Lochlan already uses the potty), shopping for things for the new house and more packing (it never seems to end). Also, I went with a girlfriend to see Ira Glass (of the radio show, This American Life) at the Paramount in Denver one night. It was such a good time and I always liked Ira Glass, but like him even more now!
We are closing on our house at 8am tomorrow (Wednesday, the 26th), and will slowly be moving throughout the rest of the week and on Saturday. Gavin is with his mom on a trip for a couple of weeks, so we're going to move while he's gone. I kept telling him that when he gets back home, he'll have a whole new bedroom!
It might be awhile before I get a chance to write a blog, so this one will have to hold you all over for a bit. :) Next time I do write, we will be all settled in the new casa de Fletcher!

Staying Busy

In between packing up the house, we've been going to the hot springs, to the parks, hiking (of course!:), to a play, to the zoo and out to an amazing Mother's Day dinner!

Coffee Table is Done!

We found out about this excellent website a few months ago from a friend called Knock-Off Wood (www.knock-offwood.com). The lady that writes the blog builds Pottery Barn-style furniture, then puts the plans, materials needed and even the cut list up on her blog. I've been drooling over this coffee table in the Pottery Barn catalog for months now, and saw that she had the plans for it on her blog. We decided to give it a whirl, and it has taken us well over a month to make it, but it is officially done today, my first Mother's Day!!!
Here is a photo of the table from Pottery Barn:

Pottery Barn sells the table for $400. We built it for under $100!!! Here are photos documenting our handiwork:

Finally done!!!

Another week in the life of the Fletcher's

I've been majorly slacking on taking photos, but have a few good ones from the past few days. We've been hiking, going to a family fun day at a local nature center, having friends over and babysitting.
Today I even decided to change it up and put Lochlan in the jogging stroller and went running for 4 miles. Well...really I only ran about 2.5 miles of it, but still...HAHA!
We are almost done with the coffee table, so I will post photos of it when it is completely finished.

A cheap solar oven made at the family fun day. This thing was cooking the s'more's over 200 degrees!
