Spoiled dog

Our dog, Lloyd Christmas, is a spoiled little princess (he's a HE, but sometimes I really think HE'S a SHE). He absolutely refuses to sleep on the floor unless there's some sort of cushioning underneath him. The comfy bathroom rugs no longer suffice for him, so he found a new spot to sleep! The basket of clothes that I have yet to put away in our walk in closet! What a brat!

Gunni Love

We had our friends, Kevin & Crissy Abila, come visit us this weekend from Gunnison. They brought their daughter, Norah, who was born a week after Lochlan. She was actually born a month early, so she is much smaller than Lochlan. We went out downtown Colorado Springs Friday night for Sushi and drinks and just happened to catch a parade for the firefighters memorial. Matt was wicked happy to see all of the bagpipe songs that they played, and to scope out the kilts. Lochlan and Norah hung out and partied with us pretty late, so we were lucky!
On Saturday, Crissy & I walked over to the Farmer's market and got some tasty veggies, meat, honey, salsa, tamales, etc. Matt & Kevin went golfing for the day at a local course, so that Matt could freshen up his bad golf skills. Matt's new job has many perks-one is that they have golf events frequently. He decided he needed to start playing more often so that he doesn't get beat up at work. HAHA :)
Saturday night we stayed in, made a big dinner and watched the Rockies game. We were all tired from the night before, so we were in bed before midnight.
Crissy, Kevin and Norah all left early afternoon on Sunday and headed back to Gunnison. It was so awesome to see them again, as it had been a couple of years! Crissy & I were pregnant at the same time and on the phone with each other often during our pregnancies "consulting" with each other. It was great to introduce our babies, since they are so close in age and destined to be friends!

Skunk Attack!

Last weekend, I woke up in the middle of the night to discover my three furry sons had gotten in a fight with a skunk in the backyard. The skunk lost, as I discovered him once the sun came up, dead in the middle of a dirt pile. We think the dogs tried to bury him after they killed him. The house still smells from it a little, but the biggest drag is having to clean three huge dogs. I helped Matt clean Lloyd in the bathtub, then Matt cleaned Taco and Tav in the backyard by himself.

Lochlan the little sports fan

We have yet to break out Lochlan's Red Sox outfits, as he's too small for them yet. We did, however, put him in this lucky Patriots outfit for the first game of the regular season last Monday night. I think that the Pats won the game because Lochlan was wearing this, because I forgot to put it on him for today's game and the Pats lost. :(

Our Boys

My sister, Mary, sent Lochlan this Boston Red Sox hat as a thank you for giving them the password to our mlb.com account, so that they are able to watch all of the Red Sox games live while living in Hawai'i. Lochlan won't be able to wear it for awhile, but I wanted to try it out on him anyways. While I was doing that, I realized that he and Gavin don't have many photos of the two of them together, so I stuck Gavin next to Lochlan and took a bunch of cute photos. Wanted to share them with you all!

Boys First Hike

I was going to write a creative blog about taking Gavin and Lochlan on their first hike to celebrate Lochlan being a month old. Since that was a month ago (August), and I haven't had a chance to write it because of our move back to Colorado, I decided it's a little outdated. We accidentally deleted a good portion of the numerous photos that we took from the hike, so I'll just post the few that didn't get deleted. The stinky part is that none of them were taken outside while on the hike. HAHA!
We went to Hooker Falls, Triple Falls and High Falls in the Dupont State Forest in between Brevard and Hendersonville, NC. We had a ton of fun and Papa played with Gavin for a long time in the cold waterfall water while I was busy feeding Lochlan. It down-poured on the hike back down to the parking lot and Gavin seemed to really enjoy being out in the rain! We met a guy from New York on our hike that took a family photo of us (one of the photos that got deleted, of course)!
